Dear Valued Customers,
We would like to inform you that effective 1 April 2026, New Zealand Customs will introduce a Low-Value Goods (LVG) levy applicable to all imported and exported consignments valued at NZD 1,000 or less.
This new levy replaces the previous per-report fee structure with a consignment-based charging model. For import shipments, the LVG levy will apply per Import Entry or Simplified Import Declaration (SID) when the value for duty is NZD 1,000 or below.
The levy is set at NZD 2.21 + GST per consignment for inbound shipments. Please note that this is a mandatory Customs charge imposed by New Zealand Customs, and not a fee imposed by Morning Global. All low-value consignments will be subject to this levy regardless of the declaration type used.
As a result, an additional NZD 2.21 Customs levy per shipment will apply to MG International Postal (MGIP) and MG International Express (MGIE) shipments destined for New Zealand, effective 1 April 2026.
